ATYPICAL CELIAC DISEASE
Approximately 1/3 (or more) of those with CD have Atypical CD (not the typical gastrointestinal/gut related symptoms).
Atypical symptoms:
- Dermatitis Herpetiformis (a very itchy, blistery rash on dual sides of the body: both elbows, knees, feet, buttocks or back), eczema, psoriasis and other skin maladies.
- Delayed puberty, infertility (males and females), miscarriages, early birth, low birth weight and other pregnancy issues; developmental delays.
- Dental enamel and discoloration problems, striations and malformed, skewed teeth.
- Neurological and cerebral issues: depression, migraines, headaches, ataxia (balance), neuropathy, schizophrenia, seizures, brain fog, irritability, behavior issues and more.
- Osteopenia, osteoporosis, bone pain, connective tissue disorders, chronic fatigue, anemia and other blood diseases.
- Mouth sores (aphthous stomatitis), reflux, allergies, sinus and respiratory issues, short stature and poor general health.
- Weight gain, vitamin and mineral deficiencies and on and on ad infinitum.
